|Kareena and Bipasa Basu with John Abraham|
With my own experience, let me be candid and blunt with you-how you look is more important for becoming a star than your acting ability, especially if you are young.
Therefore, if you are serious to be a star, read the following steps carefully and try to implement. There is no other option!
Remember, as an actor, you need to keep yourself appealing to your fans. You need to work on that ideal body figure to maintain that sex appeal. So, if “Star” actors like Hrithik Roshan, Saman Khan, John Abraham or Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bipasa Basu can do that, why can’t YOU do it as well?
It is about discipline, time, and effort that you need to exhort.
You can also have that six pack abs that ladies love and if you are a girl, a bombshell sexy figure that makes men dizzy.
Before I come to my prescription of a killer looks and body, let’s analyse some of the great stars of Bollywood.
|Killing Looks And Super Hot Body of super stars Hrithik, John and Salman|
Hrithik RoshanThis great hunk has a fabulous upper body, well built shoulders and washboard abs. For his well chiselled body, he trains four times a week including cardio and abs and eats right. He drinks plenty of water and cut on Ghee, butter and oil.
John AbrahamJohn is a vegetarian and the best part of him is his abs. John alternates between cardiovascular and weight training with a lot of emphasis on his abs. He works out 2-3 hours every day and also includes weight lifting and kickboxing in his training.
Salman KhanHe has great biceps, triceps and killer abs. Salman does cardiovascular exercises and works out on his abs to keep them shapely. He is also said to cycle almost 10 kilo meters every day.
Kareena Kapoor KhanKareena is considered one of the fittest actresses in Bollywood. She has a well toned body with a slender waistline. Kareena’s fabulous figure is the result of yoga and weight training. Kareena is said to do1000 Kapalbhati and 50 Surya namaskars a day and stays away from junk food and cola. Kareena credits her trainer Rujita for her fit figure.
Bipasha BasuShe has a well toned body, especially a very good upper body and abs. Her body is a perfect example of what cardiovascular exercises, weight training, treadmill, yoga and cycling could do.
How to build a great Body
- Wake up early (not later than 6 AM)
- Jogging-increasing the time to half an hour
- Go to gym and exercise for 45 minutes but not more than one hour.
Though your trainer will guide you, my recommendations are-
Start with Cardio Exercises (what are cardio exercises?)
Chest, Back and Calves work out on day 1(Like dumbbell bench press, Incline dumbbell flys, bent on barbell row, back extensions, seated calf raises and calf raises standing)
Legs work out on day 2(Like leg raises, sitting folds legs, lying leg curls, leg extensions, and hack squats)
Rest on day 3
Shoulder, Abs, Calves work outs on day 4(Like seated barbell military press, lateral side elevation, reverse fly, weighted sit ups, seated calf raises and standing calf raises)
Arm work out day 5(Like dumbbell pull over, cable rope general extensions, cable lying and standing triceps extensions, straight arm down, concentration loops and biceps curls cable)
Day 6 or 7 can be off depending upon how you are responding
Tip: Do not OVEREXERCISE!
Have a milk shake or a chocolate drink after your work out
four egg whites, two slices of brown bread, protein shake, corn flakes with milk and an assorted fruit platter. Avoid butter toast, omelette, Samosa, Vada or any other oily item. Vegetarians not eating eggs can take sprouted beans and whole pulses like Moong and Chana and to make it tasty, can add lime and chat masala.
A plateful of green salad, lean meet like chicken, fish, 2 Chapatis, Green vegetablesHigh-fiber complex carbohydrates such as vegetables, legumes and whole grains for vegetarians and a piece of fruit. Avoid rice, biryani, kheer or other sweets
Protein biscuits, nuts and a piece of fruit with lemon tea or tea without sugar or tea with aspartame as a sweetening agent
Must have it before 8 PM, should be light and based on what has been mentioned under lunch
- My personal opinion: Keep a day free in 10 day to eat what pleases you. Anything you crave for- I find it necessary to avoid depression of deprivation. We call this as "Cheat Diet" which means you are cheating your diet plan
Other useful tipsZero deprivation: Who said you need to diet to achieve a smoking hot body like Hrithik’s? Avoid starving yourself please! Avoiding too much salt and sugar in your meals will eliminate excess calories and bloating. Also, do not visit the gym everyday, take a break on the weekends and explore the outdoors. Avoid use of food supplements or steroids. Smoking and alcohol is a strict no-no!
Sleep: Waking up early in the morning is a must! After an hour of heavy workout, a short nap can work wonders. Sleep allows the body to repair the damage it endures during strenuous exercise.
Drink: Drink plenty of water throughout the day! A minimum of two litres per day need to be consumed in order to compensate loss of fluid through sweating. You need to keep your body adequately hydrated at all times. Dehydration is the last obstacle you want to face while working on your body
